On Friday, June 20th, 2014 at the Sun N Fun Lagoon our Coalition is partnering with many Collier County agencies to host The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL) event from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. On that day, tens of thousands of participants from hundreds of locations around the globe, are teaming up to help prevent childhood drowning by spreading the word: Swimming Lessons Save Lives™, at the kickoff to the first day of summer. Our Coalition feels that we have a good chance to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest swimming lesson ever conducted!
We are expecting over 1,200 campers from all over Collier County and Bonita and we need volunteers to help us. The event will be for half hour from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. but we are asking volunteers to be at the Sun N Fun Lagoon at 9:45 a.m. the event should be done before noon. “In-water” volunteers need not be swim instructors/coaches but simply confident themselves, in chest deep water. For more information please call us at 239-537-3436.
Please know that this event is not open to the public. Only children registered in summer camps will be participating in the event.
