On Wednesday, April 27th, the NCH Safe & Healthy Children’s Coalition hosted its annual “Kids Don’t Float, Life Jackets Do” Cocktail Celebration to thank the donors of our life jacket loaner program. The event, which took place at Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club, featured an array of speakers which included Coalition Advisory Board Members Kelly Sprigg and Dr. Todd Vedder, as well as Marco Island Firefighter and Paramedic Chris Bowden. Fire Fighter Bowden spoke on his own personal experiences responding to child drowning calls.
A highlight of the event was making the official announcement to expand this 12 stand initiative to 15 by the end of 2016. The three new target expansion sites, all located on Marco Island beaches, are: North Marriott, Crystal Shores and Residents’.
The evening also featured awards that were presented to Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club for their continued sponsorship of the event, as well as Firefighter Bowden, for his incredible support in getting the three new sites approved by Marco Island’s City Manager and management team.
