On Monday, August 26th, 2013  SWIM Central program was officially launched for this year over 1,000 Collier County Children (3,4,5 and 6 year olds including children diagnosed with special needs) will be able to participate in the program thanks to a $50,000 generous grant from the Naples Children & Education Foundation, founders of the Naples Winter Wine Festival.

Goodwill logoGoodwill Industries of Southwest Florida collected and donated bathing suits, these bathing suits will be given to underserved children so they can participate in the program and learn water safety.

Water safety lessons have been proven to decrease the risk of a child being a victim of a non- fatal or fatal drowning. Swim Central provides access to these lessons for children who might otherwise never have such an opportunity.

The more children who learn this lifesaving skill, the more likely we can reduce the number of drowning incidents in Collier County.
